Aug. 23
Police received a report at 2:14 p.m. about two women trying to pass stolen checks at a business on Bee Cave Road.
Police received a report at 4:29 p.m. that money had been taken out of a woman’s purse after she left it unattended at McDonalds on Bee Cave Road.
Police cited a woman after they received a report of an assault at Rick’s Cleaners on Bee Cave Road. According to a police report, a female customer became irate when a male clerk answered a phone while completing her transaction. According the report, the clerk told police that the woman threw a calculator at him and struck him in the ribs before leaving the store. The woman was called to the police station and issued a citation for simple assault.
Aug. 25
Police received a report of shoplifting at 10:50 a.m. on Bee Cave Road. The suspect, who is described in the report as being pregnant, allegedly took cosmetics.
Aug. 29
Police cited 17-year-old boy after police received a report of a hit-and-run collision near the Speedy Stop on Bee Cave Road at 5:10 p.m. A witness followed the suspect and alerted police, who located the boy near The Village at Westlake shopping center. He was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and minor driving under the influence of alcohol. He was released to his parents.

Aug. 23
Crews responded at 8:05 p.m. to a traffic accident on Bee Cave Road. When crews arrived, they found a single vehicle that had run off the road into a tree. No serious injuries were reported.
Aug. 25
Crews responded to Peak Road at 4:31 p.m. after receiving reports of a natural gas line break caused by heavy construction equipment. Firefighters evacuated the area and plugged the leak. When Texas Gas arrived to repair the line, a wasp’s nest was discovered near the line. Fire crews destroyed the nest and the gas company was able to repair the line.
Aug. 29
Westlake crews responded to Southridge Drive at 5:08 a.m. to assist Austin Fire Department with a large apartment fire. There were no reported injuries, but dozens were left homeless.
