Westlake improved its record to 19-1 Tuesday in Round Rock, but the win came with a mighty tussle.

The Chaps rallied from a first-set loss for a 22-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-21, 15-8 win over host Round Rock. Junior outside hitter Cailin Bula led the balanced offense with 11 kills, but setter Avery Edwards keyed Westlake’s win. The senior, coming off an all-tournament showing at last weekend’s Fraulein Volleyfest, dished out 24 assists and served five aces in the win.

Libero Tessa Hunt (26 digs) and middle blocker Kenzie Hume (five blocks) led the Chaps’ defense.

Westlake travels to the prestigious Pearland tournament Thursday to take place in what Chap coach Al Bennett calls “the most competitive tournament in the state these days.”
