• Area residents are invited to drink, dine and dance in the East Wing at the White House for a Night to Remember from 4:30-9 p.m. Saturday as part of the second annual Alzheimer’s Gala at the Summit at Westlake Hills, 1034 Liberty Park Drive.
There will be a silent auction, door prizes, cocktails, dinner, dancing and live music by Billy Wolfe and his band. Tickets are $10 per person at the door (cash or check only). Valet parking will be provided.

• Ella Martin-Gachot has been awarded the $40,000 St. Stephen’s Episcopal School Independent School Association of the Southwest & Southwest Association of Episcopal Schools Merit Scholarship.
The scholarship program has been created specifically for students from ISAS and SAES schools. The scholarship is valued at $10,000 annually and is renewable for a total award of $40,000. Students applying for the merit award will have a demonstrated record of academic excellence and motivation, and scores above the national norms on the admission tests. Active participation in school organizations, athletics, fine arts and/or community service is expected, as well as a commitment from the student to a high set of values including character, inclusiveness, tolerance and service.
