The next special meeting of the Eanes school board in preparation for a Nov. 2 bond election is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at district administration building, 601 Camp Craft Road.
The school board will consider finalizing the three options for the bond proposal.
Mark Dutton, 17, son of Laura and Drew Dutton, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest level of recognition in the Boy Scouts. Dutton’s project included fund raising, purchasing and installing trail markers at the Austin Nature and Science Center in Zilker Park. He and 60 volunteers spent more than 240 hours on the project. He recently graduated from Westlake High School and will attend Texas A&M University in the fall.
Dutton is a member of Troop 30, chartered by St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.
State Rep. Donna Howard (D-Austin) received the Texas Hospital Advocacy Tribute award during a meeting today with Seton Family of Hospitals leaders at the Seton Administration Offices in Austin. Dr. Dan Stultz, president/chief executive officer of the Texas Hospital Association, and Charles Barnett, president/CEO of the Seton Family of Hospitals, recognized Howard for her legislative accomplishments on behalf of health care during the regular session of the 81st Texas Legislature last year.
This is Howard’s second consecutive award from THA.

Westlake High School freshman Sarah Nichols plays the lead in the Zilker Theatre Productions’ “Annie” on Thursday and Saturday evenings through Aug. 14 at at the Beverly S. Sheffield Hillside Theatre.
Nichols and local actress Jordan Morgan alternate playing the spunky, depression-era orphan determined to find the parents that abandoned her years before in New York City. Morgan performs on Friday and Sunday evenings. They share the spotlight with Emily Bem and Scott Shipman as Miss Hannigan and Oliver Warbucks.
The musical runs approximately two hours with an intermission.
