The Hospital at Westlake Medical Center opened its doors to the community to help celebrate its fifth-year anniversary on July 8.
The only doctor owned hospital in Central Texas, the hospital offers a wide range of high-quality medical services to the Austin area.
“Reaching our five-year anniversary is an exciting milestone for our hospital.” CEO Rip Miller stated in a recent press release. “Our unrelenting commitment to the quality of care we provide our patients has positioned our hospital for success to serve our community for many years to come.”
Earlier this month the hospital also announced the first implant procedure in Austin of the Evia® Pacemaker. Manufactured by BIOTRONIK, Evia is the smallest pacemaker with integrated wireless remote monitoring in the world and has a battery life that exceeds 10 years.
Eric Tiblier, a cardiologist at the hospital, said the Evia device is the most technologically advanced pacemaker in the world with a life span that far exceeds that of other similar devices. The Evia pacemaker will ultimately lead to improved patient safety, enhanced quality of life and cost savings, he said.
Westlake Medical Center located at 5656 Bee Cave Road.
