"Right" ... I don't need a fact check but you may. Are you aware that the district is currently laying off teachers through attrition. Why not lay off the attorney who retired especially when Nola Wellman has added many additional private law firms on retainer during the last few years?

Why not lose the PR position that Nola Wellman added? Don't we need teachers instead of yet another administrator to prop up Nola Wellman? Eanes ISD does not need a Director of Communication. But apparently the superintendent can't function without one. She is a poor communicator and incredibly insecure. The district needs a leader who is intelligent, truthful and forthcoming with district information. Instead we have a superintendent who needs a highly paid PR position to spin her actions and hide her motives from the public.

I don't know a single Eanes taxpayer who has experienced an honest, open response to simple and direct questions asked of the district communications director and superintendent. The Eanes administration wants a communications director to spin the facts. It's a want, not a need. As for attorneys, a quick fact check of district expenditures reveals a sharp increase in the number of law firms on retainer, and the added in house legal counsel position since Wellman's arrival. "Right" is wrong.

Of course the district needs a director of communications. You can thank parents in the district for that.
Second, the previous attorney retired. Check your facts first.

Nola Wellman is laying off teachers through attrition and hiring even more administrators? Is a Director of Communications essential (of course not) and does she really need yet another attorney?
