Numerous July Fourth events scheduled throughout area

An abundance of Independence Day parades and celebrations are planned for July Fourth weekend, so put on your red, white and blue, decorate your bikes, and don’t forget the sunscreen.
Rollingwood
The Rollingwood Independence Day Parade, sponsored by the Rollingwood Women’s Club will move to Saturday, July 3, this year, representatives for the organization said.
The parade will meet at 8:30 a.m. on the corner of Pickwick and Riley Road. Walkers and bicyclists will meet at Wallis and Rollingwood drives. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. and travel west on Rollingwood Drive, turn north on Ridgewood Road, east on Pickwick Lane and end at City Hall.
Food and drinks will be for sale at the park and proceeds will benefit the Rollingwood Women’s Club. The Meat House has agreed to provide the hot dogs for the event, said Laura Hirschfeld, an event organizer, and Sanctuary Print Shop will be printing T-shirts onsite to raise money for the club. Shirts will sell for $10-$12.

West Lake Hills
The city of West Lake Hills will hold its Independence Day parade at 8:45 p.m. Sunday at Treaty Oak Bank, 101 Westlake Drive.
The parade will begin at 9 a.m. by heading down Westlake Drive, turning on Rocky River Road and heading back up Reveille Road to the bank parking lot, where refreshments will be served.
Lost Creek
Lost Creek residents will hold their celebration on July 3, starting at 8:45 a.m. for the motorized parade. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, golf carts and floats are welcome. This section of the parade will meet at Lost Creek Boulevard and Quaker Ridge. Decorations are encouraged. The parade will head west on Lost Creek Boulevard and end atLost Creek Country Club.
At 9 a.m,. pedestrians, pets and non-motorized vehicles are invited to join the fun. This section of the parade will assemble at the low water bridge over Barton Creek. The pedestrian parade will follow the motorized parade to the country club. Prizes will be awarded for best-decorated persons, pets, bikes and vehicles.
A party will be held on the driving range of the Lost Creek Country Club from 9:15-11 a.m., which will feature live music, children’s activities and refreshments.
Lake Hills
The Lake Hills Community Association will hold their Independence Day celebration 9 a.m. Saturday at the community’s private park, 3110 Edgewater Drive.
The event will feature a children’s parade, escorted by the Ce-Bar Fire Department, a greased watermelon grab and lots of fun in the water.
Parking is limited, so RSVP to Joe Gimenez at 358-1041.
Barton Creek West
This event will kick off at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and participants are encouraged to decorate their bikes, scooters, strollers and pets.
The parade will start at the Barton Creek West Park and travel south along Creeks Edge Parkway, turn left on Creeks Edge Circle and the travel back to the park.
Those who do not wish to walk in the parade are encouraged to line the parade route.
There will be ice cream, pony rides and zoo animals in the park following the 30-minute parade.
