2010 Westlake graduates Hannah Slovacek, Mackenzie Whyte and Michelle Blake have been selected to play in the 11th annual Greater Austin Area High School All Star Game Wednesday at Westlake High School.

The game starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $8 and $2 for children 2-10. For more information, visit austinareaallstars.com.

Participants in the game are nominated and selected by area softball coaches. The competition features a North vs. South format with the Colorado River as the boundary. Thus, Slovacek, Whyte and Blake will compete for the South team in the nine-inning game.

Slovacek, Westlake’s starting pitcher, threw 130 innings for the Chaps during their 17-12 campaign this season. The Georgetown commit had a 0.91 earned run average with 144 strikeouts. She also hit .319 with two home runs and six doubles.

Whyte, a Boise State recruit, played shortstop for the Chaps and hit .314 with one home run and 10 doubles. Blake, a starting outfielder, hit .240.

The Greater Austin Area All-Star Game, Inc. is nonprofit organization that works to promote softball in the Austin area and recognize the graduating high school seniors in the Austin area who have excelled in the sport. The participants are nominated by their coaches and selected by a vote from area coaches.
