• Bowie’s C.C. Collier: In a coaching cradle of a district, the veteran led the Bulldogs to a 31-6 record and the third round of the playoffs in what many expected to be a rebuilding year.

One of the year’s biggest surprises, the gritty Robinson averaged 16.2 points per district game.

Team leader in scoring, assists shot better than 50 percent from field; had 3.1 steals a game.

• SG: Yolonzo Moore, 6-1 junior, Akins
Jack-of-all-trade guard averaged 14.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.9 steals a game.

Scoring from every spot on the court, the wing averaged 17.2 points a game.

Player of the Year:
• Westlake’s Courtney Duever, 6-1 senior post: Want a bucket? How about a rebound? Perhaps a block or steal? The four-year letter winner led the second-place Chaps in each of those categories.

Coach of the Year:
• Pflugerville’s Nancy Walling: Despite the almost season-long absence of PF Nneka Enemkpali, the veteran coach led the Panthers to the District 25-5A title for the second straight year.

Athletic post presence averaged a double-double with 12 points, 10.5 boards a game.

• F: Itiana Taylor, 5-10 sophomore, Pflugerville
Ferocious defensive player (three steals, five boards a game) also scored 13.8 per contest.

• P: Courtney Duever, 6-1 senior, Westlake
Led Chaps in almost every category, including scoring (14.3 a game) and rebounding (9.9).
