Westlake greeted the new season with an offensive explosion Monday, scoring seven runs in the fourth frame in a 13-3 run-rule victory over visiting Cedar Park.
The Timberwolves jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the second inning before Robert Baldwin triggered a Chap rally with a solo home run in the bottom of the frame. Solid hitting along with a few Cedar Park miscues kept the Chaps rolling. Davis Breedlove hammered an RBI double later in the inning and then came in to score to take the lead.
Nathan Fleet shut down the Timberwolves to earn the win on the mound.
