Boys basketball: Doolin makes history, Chaps nab title

Westlake (27-5 overall, 13-1 in district) capped a historic night for point guard Cody Doolin by securing undisputed possession of the District 25-5A championship with a 72-63 win over visiting Pflugerville (26-8, 9-5).
Doolin, who scored a team-high 18 points, was honored as the school’s all-time scoring leader in a brief ceremony after the game.
Four Chaps scored in double figures for Westlake, including Conner Kemper (15 points), Jason Powell (14) and Carl Meyertons (13).
Westlake will open the playoffs next week against either San Antonio Churchill or San Antonio Reagan.
