Westlake’s Sawyer Morris earned Wrestler of the Meet honors while helping the Chaps to a second-place finish at Saturday’s District 26 tournament at Westlake High School.

Morris defeated Vista Ridge’s Will Tweddell by pinfall in the 160-pound division to advance to the regional tournament Friday and Saturday in San Antonio.

Jim Giankopolous also won gold at 140 with a pinfall over Brett Ferdinand of Cedar Park, and Chase Betzer pinned Vista Ridge’s Isreal Bustons in the 130 title match.

As a team, Westlake tallied 203 points to finish behind Vista Ridge’s 241.5.

Westlake’s other regional qualifiers include: Sammy Ivester, third, 112; Connor Schults, second, 125; Marshall Brock, third, 145; Trevor Hershey, second, 171; and Richmond Howard, second, 189.
