Not even a home-court advantage could help Bowie slow the Chaps.

Westlake (20-6 overall, 6-2 in District 25-5A) exploded for 20 first-period points and cruised to a 73-35 win over the last-place Bulldogs (4-18, 1-7) Tuesday at Bowie High School.

Point guard Cherrell Mays led Westlake with 12 points, but every Chap joined the scoring spree.
Reserve post Jackie Manzano scored 11 points, and starting post Courtney Duever tallied nine points before resting on the bench.

The Chaps host first-place Pflugerville Friday.
