Just three months after his selection as the National Federation of High School Coaches Association boys golf coach of the year in Texas, Westlake’s Callan Nokes received the group’s 2009 Southwest Sectional Coach of the Year honor.

The Southwest section includes all high school coaches in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado and Arkansas.

Nokes, who is in his seventh year as Westlake’s head coach, guided the Chaps to the Class 5A state championship last spring.
