WEB PoliceAustin police are looking for a brazen suspect who snatched a pricey ring last weekend at Barton Creek Square Mall.

“The suspect walked into the store and asked to see a blue sapphire ring,” an APD press release reads. “The employee pulled the ring out and the suspect grabbed it out of her hand and took off running. He ran out of the mall and got into a blue SUV that was waiting for him.”

The incident happened Dec. 12. As of press time Tuesday afternoon, police had not arrested anyone in connection with the case.

According to police, the suspect was described as 150 pounds, between 5-foot-5-inches and 5-foot-8-inches, and wearing a black jacket and torn blue jeans.

Police have not released the value of the ring that was stolen.
