Despite 16 points and 11 rebounds from post Courtney Duever, the Westlake girls basketball team (15-5, 1-1) couldn’t hold up against a fearsome Pflugerville press in a 69-53 District 25-5A setback Friday at Pflugerville High School.

The No. 5 Panthers (14-2, 2-0) forced 30 turnovers while overcoming an early 8-0 Westlake lead. Christie Mooney led Pflugerville with 21 points and played a pivotal role during a 19-6 run that spanned the end of the second period and the start of the second half.

Hannah Coley had nine points for Westlake, and Cherrell Mays added eight points, four rebounds and three assists.
