Westlake exploded for 28 points in the second period and raced to a 71-44 win at Vista Ridge in a nondistrict boys basketball matchup Tuesday.

Guard Cody Doolin (7-1) led Westlake with 22 points, and forward Connor Kemper added 18 points. Guard Hagen Fell came off the bench for 10 points.
