It took more than three months, but the Westlake volleyball team has finally reached its rematch.

The Chaps held off a spirited rally by Katy Cinco Ranch for a 25-18, 25-23, 25-27, 26-24 win in a Class 5A state semifinal match at Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos. With the victory, Westlake advances to the state championship match for the third consecutive year.

A familiar foe awaits Westlake in three-time defending champion Amarillo, which has beaten the Chaps in the past two state finals.
