Five months after guiding the Chaps to the Class 5A state championship, Westlake boys golf coach Callan Nokes has been selected as the National Federation Coaches Association boys coach of the year in Texas.

As a result, Nokes is automatically nominated for sectional coach of the year. Sectional winners will be nominated for national coach of the year.

“I’m truly overwhelmed by this honor,” Nokes said. “So many family members, friends, parents, and former players have done so much to support me and the Westlake golf program. Wow.”
