West Lake Hills police officers are investigating an assault from the night of the Lake Travis-Westlake football game.

According to a police report, a group of Lake Travis High School students attempted to enter the home of a Westlake High School student having a party.

“The male victim answered the door and said they weren’t welcome,” the police report said. “One of the males then punched him in the face, breaking his nose.”

While police say they have suspects in the case, no arrests have been made. Since all parties involved in the incident are younger than 18, police are not releasing names.

There was a more brutal attack last week at Westlake High School.

I was unaware of that assault at Westlake. My child witnessed another incident at the high school about a month ago where a student viciously attempted to attack a toddler who was with a parent during the lunch period. Apparently it was very frightening and serious. But nothing is said to us about these events.

Just saw in the Statesman, there was a lock down today at Westlake High School due to a reported sighting of someone in the parking lot with a gun.

More than a year ago, the Eanes Pride Survey results revealed several students in our high school and middle schools reported bringing guns and weapons to school. The results of the survey can be viewed here.

These are frightening statistics for parents sending their children to these schools every morning.
