Despite not placing a single runner in the top 10, Westlake’s depth carried the team to a fifth-place showing at Saturday’s Gazelle Invitational at Decker Lake in Austin.

The Chaps tallied a score of 115. San Antonio Prep College won the meet with 53 points.

Matt Ballou led Westlake with an 11th-place time of 17:40.63 minutes. Andrew Stockton finished 17th in 17:56, and Robert Waguespack placed 23rd in 18:06.15.

Nick Domino (30th, 18:17.59) and Dan Tisdale (34th, 18:43.04) completed Westlake’s team score.
