With the loss of coach Huey Chancellor, all eyes in Bellville program will look to Doug Foster to carry on the program’s winning ways. Junior RB Quentin Runnels had some big runs for the Brahmas as a sophomore and is posed to break out this year. QB Kyle Mueller knows how to throw the ball, giving the Brahmas options on offense.

Columbus Cardinals

The Cardinals hope speed will improve on their 2008 district record. With a returning QB in junior Cordrik Carter, Columbus should be able to build on last season.

The Buffaloes have enjoyed several years of deep playoff runs, making it to the state semifinals in 2008. Corey Brite promises to be the sort of free safety that gives opposing coaches nightmares if he repeats his 2008 performance, giving the defense a ferocious bite.

La Grange Leopords

With passing guru Josh Schneider returning as quarterback for the Leopards, along with a few of his favorite targets, La Grange looks primed to compete for a playoff spot.

Smithville Tigers

With Ace Fierro taking over at QB, the Tigers form more of an air game. With speedster Jordan Runnels back for his senior season, the Tigers will be hard to catch in the open field. On defense, an impressive cadre of linebackers including Jacorey Lincoln look to shut down opponents.
