Officials at Westlake High School and the Ninth Grade Center libraries are looking for parent volunteers to help students find the books they need as the Eanes school district swings into gear for the 2009-10 school year.

“Our parent volunteers shelve books, check out books, walk around and help keep quiet in the library, process new books, process new magazines and help with special projects and displays,” said Ginger Lloyd, WHS library assistant.

The WHS library depends on at least six adult volunteers to get through each week, and the NGC utilizes the time of additional volunteers. The libraries are open from 7:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. every school day. Volunteers usually come in between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

There is always work to be done at the active high school libraries.

“We will take as many volunteers as we can get,” Lloyd said. “It is really up to the individuals as to what hours they want to work.”

To volunteer in the WHS library, contact Loyd at 732-9284 or e-mail her at glloyd@eanesisd.net. Parents wishing to volunteer time in the NGC library should contact Jackie Clifton at 732-9264 or e-mail her at jclifton@eanesisd.net.

Opportunities for parent volunteers exist at most of the Eanes campuses. To find out if you can pitch in to help,     contact the front office administration at each    of the district’s nine school.
