The Westlake High School Hyline Dance Team will conduct its annual Summer Dance Clinic fundraiser Aug. 11-13 for young dancers from kindergarten through the fifth grade.
Students may attend morning or afternoon sessions or stay for a full day of fun.
The cost of the clinic is $70 for half a day from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or 1:30-5 p.m. The full-day clinic from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. costs $135. Each session will include dance technique, jazz, novelty, lyrical or hip-hop routines. Dancers will perform the last hour of the last day of camp, so plan to attend and bring a camera.
The Westlake Hyline Jazz Workshop for dancers in grades 6-9 will be Aug. 11-13 from 1:30-5 p.m. at a cost of $70.
It’s one of the most fun and intensive workshops in Austin and will focus on technique, style and cutting edge combinations. The workshop will conclude with a showcase on Aug. 13 at 4 p.m.
All clinics will be held at the WHS PE Gym near the Camp Craft Road entrance to the school. Pre-registration is preferred by Aug.7, or you may register at the door 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the workshop. The fee will increase by $5 when registering at the door.
