Westlake High School will host Kickoff, a festival blend of a carnival and football scrimmages, featuring the football teams on Aug. 15 at Chaparral Stadium.

 Scrimmages begin at 8:30 a.m. and the carnival follows from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s team baskets featured in the silent  auction include hunting and fishing (includes a fishing guide) and Best of  Austin (includes a three-day pass to ACL). Entertainment “Under the Big Tent” will include performances by WHS, West Ridge and Hill Country middle school cheerleaders, Austin Jugglers, Drumline, pie eating contest and Hula Hoop Lady with the senior football players and much more. The carnival will feature outdoor games, including a dunk tank, where you can test your skill at dunking the football coaching staff, as well as an indoor game area and food court located in the Chap Court,  offering Gatti’s Pizza, Chick-Fil-A, Thundercloud Subs and Smoothie King, with Hat Creek Burger Company hamburgers and snow cones located outside.
