For the first time in six seasons, the Texas Girls Coaches Association all-star basketball game will have a Chaparral flair.

Westlake guard Caroline Durbin, a 6-footer committed to the University of New Mexico, will play in Thursday’s TGCA Class 4A-5A All-Star game at the Burger Center in Austin.

The game starts at 8 p.m.

Durbin will represent the South squad at the all-star event. In her four years on Westlake’s varsity team, she developed into one of the area’s premier players. She started for three seasons and earned the District 25-5A Most Valuable Player honor in 2008.

This past season, she averaged 12.3 points and 4.4 rebounds a game while helping the Chaps reach the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.

Katie Gross was the last Chap to play in the TGCA all-star event.
