A burglar stole a lithograph by Pablo Picasso from a West Lake Hills home on June 23.

The owner of the house said a burglar entered her house on Terrace Mountain Drive sometime between 1:45 p.m. and 6 p.m., according to a West Lake Hills police report.

When the resident came home that day after 6 p.m., she noticed her sliding glass doors were open. She saw signs that someone had rummaged through dresser drawers, nightstand and TV cabinet, according to the report.

She then noticed the lithograph missing from her bedroom wall.

The Picasso print, titled “The Circumcision,” is worth between $15,000 and $20,000, according to the owner.

Chief Cliff Spratlan of the WLHPD said this is the first art theft that he knows of in West Lake Hills.

He said the print will not be easy to sell.

“It’s a piece of historical work,” he said. “They’re going to have a tough time selling it.”
