Residents of the Lake Hills community have a chance for a step back in time June 25. Westlake Pool and Spa is sponsoring a movie night in the Lake Hills Community Association Park on Lake Austin at 3116 Edgewater Drive.

Music by DJ Watson begins at 7 p.m. and the animated movie, “Bolt,” featuring John Travolta and Miley Cyrus begins at 8:30 p.m. The LHCA parking lots will be open for free parking without membership for the event. 

“We try to make it a real fun event for everybody,” said Christie Richter of Westlake Pool and Spa. “I grew up in a small town where my dad sponsored movie nights on Fridays. I wanted to sponsor something similar, something that was kid and family friendly.”

The movie night was originally scheduled for Memorial Day, but was rained out. Richter said her company doesn’t really sponsor the event for promotional purposes.

“We don’t expect to get any pool business out of it,” she said. “It’s just a good way for us to get to know our neighbors and for neighbors to get to know each other.”

Richter said residents in the Lake Hills community could bring a blanket, food and drinks. The park has barbeque grills for those interested in cooking out. 

Also attending the movie night will be students from Sammy’s House, an organization that provides effective learning and development tools for special needs children. Westlake Pool and Spa is a contributor to Sammy’s House.
