A woman was killed in a car accident at about 11 a.m. on Bee Cave Road east of Resaca Road.

Linda Hartner, 54, died at the scene of the accident, said Sgt. Dane Baker, with the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Highway Patrol.

Baker said a gold Toyota Tundra pickup truck was traveling west on Bee Cave Road in the far right lane when a white Mazda RX-8 that was traveling west in the left lane lost control, hitting the rear left side of the pickup.

The truck skid sideways into oncoming traffic, and Hartner’s eastbound maroon Toyota Yaris collided with the truck.

The driver of the truck, Richard Hanson, 68, was transported by ambulance to University Medical Center Brackenridge, Baker said.

The driver of the white Mazda, Rex Alan Brewer, 22, was not injured, Baker said.

The accident is under investigation and charges are pending, Baker said.
