No one was injured in a fire that destroyed the second floor of a business complex at 3010 Bee Cave Road on March 26.

A passerby reported smoke and flames going through the roof of the office building at 3010 Bee Cave Road at about 8:50 p.m., Westlake Fire Department Assistant Chief Mike Elliott said.

When firefighters arrived, no one was in the building, Elliott said.

Thirty-eight firefighters and eight fire department vehicles were on the scene about two hours to extinguish the fire, Elliott said.

Westlake Vision Center, Abercrombie Gems & Precious Metals and Signature Nails and Spa were damaged in the fire that collapsed the roof of the building, either by the fire or by the efforts to extinguish the blaze.

Elliott said the fire is under investigation, but did not give any further details.
