The Eanes school district is upgrading more than the Fine Arts Facility this spring. As early as March 2, the district Web site will sport a new look that administrators say should be more user friendly and contain more information than the old site.

“We have added many useful features to the site over the last few years, but were in need of an overhaul that would reorganize the site in a logical way,” said director of communications Dale Whitaker.

District employees in the information systems and communications departments        have worked together during the last few months to develop a new site with parents, staff, students and community in mind. It will feature options currently available on the existing site and will add several new features, Whitaker said.

“The front page will include the most frequently accessed items, as well as links to all schools and departments,” she said. “In addition, some seasonal links such as “school supplies” will be posted on the home page during appropriate times.”

Users may not have noticed, but the address for the district Web site has already changed to eanesisd.net. The change was made in coordination with new e-mail addresses for staff with the eanesisd.net extension in the    fall.
