Westlake will face Converse Judson in a Class 5A Region IV area playoff game Friday at 7:30 p.m. at New Braunfels Canyon High School.

The Chaps (25-7) routed San Antonio Lee 86-63 in Tuesday’s playoff opener, while Judson (34-1) defeated San Antonio Warren 53-38.

Judson provides a stiff challenge for the Chaps. The Rockets, ranked No. 8 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ Class 5A state poll,  allow just 42.6 points per game to lead all Greater San Antonio teams. They have an average margin of victory of 23.6 points per game, and their only loss of the season came in a three-point setback to Pflugerville.
