The first sanctioned rugby matches at Westlake High School will be held this evening on the practice fields next to the Ninth Grade Center.  This will mark the first home games for the newly formed Westlake High School Rugby team.

Westlake will take on longtime state rugby contender, Dallas Jesuit High School at 6 p.m.  At 7:30 p.m., the team Westlake will host to the San Antonio Area High School Rugby Club.

In rugby tradition, Westlake families will billet ruggers from Dallas Jesuit and provide a post game “social” for all players.

Parking for the rugby event has been designated in the South Campus parking lot next to the tennis center and softball fields.

The game of rugby is ruff, ruff, ruff…

But to watch it is fun, fun, fun.

I’m a new fan and I love it…a combination of football and soccer.

Our athletes were too much for the bigger, stronger Dallas Jesuit to handle. A big, big win for the good guys.

Come to a game and giver’er a whirl.
